Frequently asked questions

What is the typical daily schedule on the Nile Cruise?

While the exact timings can vary slightly depending on river traffic and sailing conditions, a standard day looks like this:

Morning: Early breakfast followed by a guided excursion to historical sites before the midday heat.

Afternoon: Lunch on board while sailing to the next destination. You will have free time to relax on the sun deck, swim in the pool, or enjoy afternoon tea.

Evening: Dinner in the main restaurant, often followed by nightly on-board entertainment like a Galabeya party (traditional Egyptian dress), belly dancing, or a Nubian show.

Is the Hot Air Balloon ride safe, and what happens if it's canceled?

Yes, safety is the absolute top priority. The hot air balloon operators in Luxor are highly regulated by the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. Pilots are licensed professionals, and equipment undergoes strict, daily safety checks.

🎈 Weather Note: Balloon rides are entirely weather-dependent. If a flight is canceled due to wind conditions or visibility, we will do our best to reschedule it for the following morning. If rescheduling isn't possible, you will receive a full refund for the balloon portion of your tour.

How do we get to Abu Simbel, and how long does it take?

Because Abu Simbel is located about 290 km (180 miles) south of Aswan, this excursion requires an early morning departure (usually around 4:00 AM) to beat the heat and crowds.

By Land (Standard): You will travel in a modern, air-conditioned, and secure coach or private vehicle. The drive takes roughly 3 to 3.5 hours each way, with a rest stop in between.

By Air (Optional Upgrade): If you prefer to skip the drive, ask us about upgrading to a short, 45-minute domestic flight from Aswan to Abu Simbel.

What should I pack, and is there a dress code?

Comfortable, lightweight clothing is key for sightseeing, but you should also prepare for a few specific scenarios:

For Sightseeing: Loose, breathable clothes, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, high-SPF sunscreen, and very comfortable walking shoes (you will be walking on uneven stone and sand).

Cultural Respect: When visiting temples and local areas, it is respectful to keep shoulders and knees covered (both for men and women). Bringing a light scarf or shawl is highly recommended.

On the Cruise: Casual wear is perfect for the daytime. For dinners and evening entertainment, guests usually opt for "smart casual" (collared shirts, sundresses).

Will I have internet access (Wi-Fi) while on the cruise?

Yes, but it can be spotty. Most modern Nile cruise boats offer Wi-Fi, usually available in the main lobby or lounge area, and sometimes in the cabins. However, because the boat is constantly moving through rural areas between Luxor and Aswan, the signal relies on local cell towers and can be slow or cut out entirely in certain stretches of the river.

📱 Pro-Tip for Digital Nomads: If you need a guaranteed, fast connection for work or staying in touch with family, we highly recommend purchasing a local Egyptian eSIM or a physical SIM card (from providers like Vodafone or Orange) at the airport upon your arrival. Cellular data coverage along the Nile is generally much more reliable than the ship's shared Wi-Fi.
